Tony Kaye, the director of the critically acclaimed epic movie “American History X,” and the film’s producer, John Morrissey, will hold a master class on November 12, as part of the first edition of Malatya Film Platform.
Six-time Grammy nominee Tony Kaye began his career as a music video director. He made his feature directorial debut with American History X (1998), a drama about racism, and pursued a successful film career. Filmed over 18 years, his critically acclaimed documentary on abortion, Lake of Fire, premiered at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival. He also won recognition for his 2011 film “Detachment,” a drama about the decline of the educational system in American high schools.
