4th Malatya International Film Festival

At 4th Malatya International Film Festival hosted by Malatya Apricot Research, Development and Promotion Foundation under the auspices of Governorship of Malatya, with the major sponsorship of Barya Academy Yakup Öztürk Cinema Club and the support of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Promotion Fund of Turkish Prime Ministry, Municipality of Malatya, İnönü University, Malatya Industry and Exchange of Commerce, Fırat Development Agency, Crystal Apricot Award for best film was given to Yozgat Blues this year.

Hosted by Korhan Abay and Çiğdem Tunç, the award ceremony was held at Kemal Sunal Hall of Malatya Congress and Cultural Center, and broadcast live on A Haber TV. The award ceremony kicked off with Governor of Malatya and Festival Honorary President, Vasip Şahin’s speech. National and international jury members, Kemal Sunal’s wife Gül Sunal and his son Ali Sunal, students of “The Dunce Class” and cinema lovers of Malatya attended the ceremony.

Cinema In The Spotlight
“Tonight, cinema is in the spotlight,” had said Governor of Malatya and Festival Honorary President, Vasip Şahin, at the opening ceremony, and once again he showed the importance he gave to cinema and artists by inviting the artists on stage without giving a long speech at the closing ceremony.
