3rd Malatya International Film Festival

At 3rd Malatya International Film Festival hosted by Malatya Apricot Research, Development and Promotion Foundation under the auspices of Governorship of Malatya, with the support of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Promotion Fund of the Turkish Prime Ministry, Municipality of Malatya and İnönü University, with the main sponsorship of Manas Evleri, and organized by Festival Concept International, Crystal Apricot Award for best film was given to Beyond The Hill this year.
Hosted by Korhan Abay and Defne Halman, the award ceremony was held at Kemal Sunal Hall of Malatya Congress and Cultural Center, and broadcast live on A Haber TV. The award ceremony kicked off with Governor of Malatya and Festival Honorary President, Vasip Şahin’s speech, and 19 awards have been presented in the festival’s competition.
“True Owners of the Festival Are Malatya People”

Past week, Malatya was filled with art, students learned a great deal from the masters and distinguished films showing different cultures met the audience, said Governor of Malatya and Festival Honorary President, Vasip Şahin. He also noted that they personally experience the progress in domestic film industry with the festival, and the true owners of the festival are Malatya people. “Malatya people showed a huge interest in the festival. More than 10,000 people attended the screenings. And hopefully in the coming years, Malatya will embrace the festival even more. Malatya is ready and assertive in this. Upcoming years will witness a greater excitement and we will personally witness the progress of the film industry,” said Governor Şahin.
