Initiated with the inspiration by cinema and our country’s established culture, and as the most powerful center of attraction for Turkish cinema, Malatya International Film Festival will gather together cinema enthusiasts for the 7th time this year along with innovations and surprises.
In collaboration with the Governorship of Malatya, 7th International Malatya Film Festival will be held by the Metropolitan Municipality of Malatya in November this year. With many surprises in store for cinema enthusiasts and Malatya residents, the festival aims to make more profound and permanent contributions to Turkish cinema. Innovations to encourage young filmmakers will also be put into effect this year.
Mayor of Malatya, Ahmet Çakır, expressed their great joy for hosting the seventh
edition of Malatya Film Festival. Mayor Çakır pointed out that festivals are vital for cinema industry, and that they will pursue by revamping the festival on mission basis, as well as sectoral basis. Çakır also underlined that an intensive preparatory work for the festival is underway and they particularly aim to encourage the participation of Malatya residents.
With its events and film selections inspired by Turkey’s archaic values, the festival aims to emphasize universal values. The festival director is film critic Suat Köçer. With its new team, Malatya Film Festival prepares to pep up Autumun with a festival matching the spirit of Malatya; a city molded with cultural and historical beauties, a city where East meets West.
Malatya International Film Festival will mark its seventh year with its national and international film program. Much-anticipated innovations and surprises will be announced soon.
